The Road to Gold


July 25th

Tina Torres was drawn as South Korea for Our Olympics 2012.


July 27th

Tina and Emilie (Czech Republic) posted the a picture of themselves watching the Opening Ceremonies and drew their countries flag.


Then Tina's country was the 114th team to walk out during the opening ceremonies which won her 50 Bonus points in our first competition.




July 29

Tina posted an article about one of the truly amazing Olympiad.
"Im Dong Hyun, an Olympic archer, from South Korea, who is legally blind, broke his own record, scoring 699 out of 720 in the first round of competition."


August 4

Tina shared this amazing link with us. It highlights all the really great photos of the Games.



She also posted this photo of a true fan!


And a South Korean weightlifter with a dislocated shoulder.


If all those photos were not enough, she submitted 11 photos to our first annual photo competition.












August 6

Tina won 20 points after all of you voted her the Silver Medalist with her fabulous shoe photo!

August 9

On underdog day, Tina was paired with Uzbekistan.

As partners, they won 5 bonus points for Carli Llyod who won Gold in American Soccer when they defeated Japan.



August 10

Tina also won bonus points for Bianca Knight in Track and Field in the Women's 4 X 400m Relay for winning Gold.



Tina sent in a photo of an Olympic Wrestler from South Korea winning Gold.


She also sent in a great video of a South Korean fight song.




August 12

Tina won a random drawing for Sanya Richards Ross winning Gold and pulled a Double Bonus Card.



Tina was in the Gold medal position for 13 days of our competition. She not only had Gold medals but she participated in many events, voted in our competition and showed amazing Olympic Spirit.

July 25

Pam Keller was drawn as Italy.


July 27

Pam made Pizza from scratch to celebrate the Opening Ceremonies.


July 29

She showed her national pride with this picture of Italian spirit.


She sent a picture of her pride with Italian stickers.


July 30

Pam was the third person to turn in a photo for the first photo competition.


Pam made chicken parmesan and pasta to support her Italian women's gymnastics team.



Pam won bonus points for Missy Franklin winning the Women's 200 Freestyle relay.


August 1

Pam wanted to recognize an enthusiastic Italian athlete who celebrated his birthday with a gold medal - not a bad way to spend a birthday!

"Italy's Daniele Molmenti celebrates winning the gold medal in the final of the K-1 men's kayak slalom at Lee Valley Whitewater Center, at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Waltham Cross near London."




August 5

Pam won bonus points when Serena Williams won Gold for Women's singles tennis.


August 6

Pam submitted to the second photo contest with this gymnastics spoof photo.

She was paired with Slovakia for the Underdog day.
They both won points for Heather Mitts and Christie Rapone for Women's Soccer winning Gold.

Pam won bonus points when Jordan Burroughs took home the Gold in the Men's Freestyle in 74Kg/163lbs.
